Originally built for small planes, as tourism to the Caribbean island expanded so did the size of the landing aircraft.

Located right next to Maho Beach, this infamous spot has become popular with tourists who flock to the area for the ultimate photo opportunity.

Understandably the end of the runway is a dangerous place due to the force of the aircraft jets. Only last week a tourist was killed when blown backwards due to the force of a jet engine.
