10 Hidden Details In Walt Disney World You Probably Didn’t Know
5. Cinderella’s Twin Perspectives
Walt’s vision of the Disney park empire was to enable adults to have as much fun as the children. There is no more suiting representation to this than at Cinderella’s fountain statute located just outside the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
The statue has been designed specifically to be seen from two different perspectives. To an adult, the statute is a sombre affair depicting the princess feeding her birds. From the eyes of a child, who have a much lower line of sight and look up at the princess, with the help of the mural behind it, appears as if she is wearing a crown.
For adults to see this forced perspective, they would effectively have to bow before Cinderella. The beautiful, almost poetic homage to Walt’s famous words regarding children and adults enjoying the parks together in harmony.
Sometimes it takes a child’s vision to unlock the world, which is exactly what the imagineers tried to highlight with this poignant statue. Walt Disney World should bring out every adults inner-child.
