5. The Most Haunted Hotel In The United Kingdom

The Schooner Hotel in Alnmouth is no ordinary hotel, far from it. In fact, it is deemed the most haunted hotel in Great Britain by the Paranormal Society with over 3,000 reports of paranormal activity. Most of the rooms are thought to be inhabited by a myriad of ghosts and ghouls, but its the dreaded Room 28 where most of the hotel's supernatural occurrences seem to stem from. Legend has it that a man returned from sea and murdered his wife and two children in the room, which is the central hub for tales of executions, suicides and family massacres. Guests have asserted to hearing voices, children crying and women screaming and feeling an unknown presence in the room. Perhaps the most unsettling story linked to the room is that of a woman who booked to stay in the room around 18 years ago and was awoken in the middle of the night by the sound of her daughter conversing with thin air. When she questioned her daughter as to who she was talking to, the young girl replied by saying the man at the end of the bed and was bemused at the fact her mum couldn't see him.
