One of the most famous unknown serial killers of all time. Jack The Ripper or The Whitechapel Murderer brutally murdered 5 prostitutes (known as the "canonical five") between August and November 1888. The victims had their throats cut and internal organs removed, which suggested the perpetrator must have had some surgical knowledge. Back then forensic science - including fingerprinting - didn't exist, and the only way that murderers could be caught was either by witnessing the attack first hand or obtaining a confession. More than 2,000 people were questioned, 300 of them investigated and 80 detained.
