When: September, 2014 Where: Penampang, Malaysia According to a Malaysian news site, this red streak hung over Penampang and Putatan, causing mild panic among the local population. It first appeared at around 7PM, and remained in the sky for 3 hours before suddenly disappearing at around 10PM. Many first noticed the strange light while driving back from work, causing them to step out of their cars to get a better look. "I stopped the vehicle and saw a line of light in the sky and thought it was a meteor," claimed one witness. However, some have claimed that the light being caused by a meteor or comet seems unlikely, due to the streak remaining stationary for so long.
