10 Things You Won’t Believe Were Sold On eBay

8. Bottle Of Atmosphere From The London Olympics 2012

Who's been to the Summer Olympics? Inhaled the smell of excitement, Astroturf and burning torches? Swayed, dazzled by the five radiating rings and immaculately sculpted Olympians? No? Fear not! For those who've missed every single Olympics since the 'Games of the I Olympiad' in 1896 (can't leave the older readers out), you can now tick it off your to-do list. Last year's Olympic Games were a huge boost for UK economy, with the country supposedly seeing a £9.9bn boost in trade and investment from hosting the mammoth event. Not to mention the weird looking cyclop mascots, Wenlock and Mendeville making leading appearances as cuddly toys, keyrings, eggcups, hats and umbrellas. Tom Daley's half-naked body was splattered on mugs, T-shirts, duvets... the Olympic memorabilia cow was well and truly milked dry. Not completely parched though. As well as used ticket stubs and dog-eared programmes, keen EBay entrepreneurs bottled up the euphoric 'Olympic atmosphere' for those unable to experience it themselves. A year later and the auctions are still going. If you're after a taste yourself, 'Bluefaerie82' is currently taking bids on eBay. The item's description is 'Pure bottled atmosphere from the Equestrian event at Greenwich Park on 3rd August 2012. Limited chance to get this piece of history. I can send photographs of my ticket as proof.' Bottled thin air at an opening bid of £1.99? Bargain! It was probably more expensive than that sealed and full of water in London.
