When Halloween Horror Nights first began there wasn't a great deal of money available to put together the detailed and well designed mazes and scarezones we have today. This meant that team who put together the event had to improvise.

A number of props have been repurposed over the years to bring a more authentic look to the event.

Psycho IV: The Beginning was one of the first films to be shot at the brand new Universal Studios Florida back in 1990 but its facade did not go to waste. At the 1993 Halloween event guests got to venture through the doors of the actual Bates Motel from the movie in The Psycho Path Maze.

According to author Christopher Ripley, a number of other movie props were given a new home at Halloween Horror Nights, including memorabilia from The Flintstones and Jurassic Park.
