10 Weirdest Stephen King Stories You Need To Read
1. From A Buick 8
From a Buick 8 is much more of a traditional King story. It tells the story of a car – or something that looks like a car – and its otherworldly capabilities. Strange things happen in and around the vehicle; people disappearing, strange creatures materialising, and flashes of eerie light, to name a few. The story is mostly told from the perspective of Sandy Dearborn, a police Sergeant, as he recounts the events surrounding the discovery of the car to young Ned Wilcox, who lost his father, one of Dearborn's colleagues, in a tragic accident.
The story takes the reader into a world just beyond the veil of our own, and forces us to confront our fascination with the deadly and dangerous. Much like the titular car, the story has a subtle way of drawing the reader in, until they find themselves invested deep in the book and the lives of the characters within.
It is a book with particularly vivid imagery, and an incredibly well-informed glimpse into the Pennsylvania State Police force and their procedures, as well as a haunting narrative that will have the hairs on the back of your neck up in a standing ovation.
