12 Iconic Characters Utterly Ruined By Terrible Commercials

8. James Bond's Taste For Non-Premium Beer

Everyone gets that these new films are reboots, and they are retroactively taking away some of the traditional elements of Bond - and that€™s okay. In Skyfall it was pretty clever when Q told Bond that his €˜gadget€™ was a handgun. It may have annoyed some traditionalists but it felt more in line with the organic feel that the film series has been going for. But what harm was there in keeping the Martini as his drink? Heineken isn't a bad drop but it is about as sophisticated as the Daily Mail. And besides you can€™t have Heineken shaken OR stirred without turning it into a disgusting, flat, malty mess. Heineken should be beneath Bond. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHz30rlNHCc James Bond might be more grounded than he used to be, but he is a fictional character that is meant to be better than us. He always has been and always should be. He€™s stronger, faster, smarter, more sophisticated, and more seductive than is really humanly possible, and that€™s part of the fun. What€™s next? Driving a used Toyota?
