12 Insane Real-Life Prison Breaks You Won't Believe
10. Michel Vaujour - Nectarine Grenades
In 1986, Michael Vaujour was busy serving time for armed robbery and attempted murder when his wife Nadine came to his aid, going through with the only reasonable course of action. She took helicopter flying lessons, and along with an accomplice, she picked her husband up from the roof of the jail before cruising off into the sunset. But what complex method did Vaujour use to cunningly navigate his way to the top of the prison? Nectarines, of course, painted like grenades. It's a stunning true story, but after miraculously fleeing his confinement, you'd think Vaujour would keep his head down. Not exactly, as the Frenchman was recaptured just a few months later following a failed bank robbery. He was shot in the head too, and lapsed into a coma.
