15 Most Bizarre Articles Hiding On Wikipedia
4. Wrap Rage
You know that minor annoyance you experience for a few seconds while trying to open a plastic package? It turns out that warrants an entire Wikipedia article and its own term, "Wrap Rage." This is defined as the "anger and frustration resulting from the inability to open hard-to-open packaging, particularly some heat-sealed plastic blister packs and clamshells."
It wouldn't be Wikipedia without a bunch of hilariously unnecessary studies to point out the obvious, so of course there are some surveys where people say that annoying, hard-to-open packages do indeed annoy them. Then there's a whole "solutions" section, as the author apparently really wants retailers to look at this and change the way they sell their products.
Nothing here is necessarily wrong, but the idea that a minor, first world problem like this merits a page of its own is so amusing. All we need next is one analyzing the inconvenience caused by earbuds getting tangled up in your pocket.
