After defeating a UFC legend in Anderson Silva, winning one of the best fights of all time against Kelvin Gastelum and then knocking out Robert Whittaker to become the UFC middleweight champion, it's quite clear that it's been an exceptional year of action for Israel Adesanya.
His run in the UFC is the type of story that is usually reserved for movies, but this is literally his real life and it's insane to watch. Adesanya is his usual charismatic and hilarious on the show. Every time he speaks he sounds like a star and appearances on the JRE have only helped show that to a larger audience.
Although it could've been an episode that focused entirely on his glory inside the Octagon, it was interesting to see the champion open up about having to deal with the pressures of his success. It's a fascinating insight into an athlete who is very much in the prime of their career.
