At a speech he made in December 1961, JFK was recorded speaking at 327 words per minute during certain sections. This, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, is the fastest rate of public speaking in history. What makes this all-the-more unusual is that Kennedy was renowned for his slow, methodical Boston twang - and the 96.5 words per minute he used during his Inaugural Presidential Address in January 1961 was less than a third of the speed of his own record.
