In 1956, the Pepsi-Cola Company's franchise in Buffalo, New York, acquired the local American Hockey League side - and transformed the look of the club. As a result of Pepsi's acquisition of the Buffalo Bisons, the ice hockey side changed their logo and jersey to reflect the fizzy-drink company.

The logo (pictured above) was designed in the shape of a bottle cap - while the team's official jersey colours changed to the famous red, white and blue Pepsi colours. Although the side won the Calder Cup - awarded to the champions of the American Hockey League - in 1964 and 1970, they ceased to exist in the early-1970s as the Buffalo Sabres were instead granted a franchise at the Bisons' expense.
