10. People Who Complain About The "Historic" Trinity Square Car-Park Going

Gateshead High Street used to be something you walked through quickly if you were a bit lost: a mythical place for hard people and scary news stories that definitely wasn't for you. But thanks to a few million pounds, there's now a cinema, a Frankie And Benny's and a Costa within throwing distance of Mo's - the place that never closes - on the site of the old Get Carter car park. Which was easily the ugliest building ever to be considered for protected status, and all because Michael Caine threw Alf off Coronation Street off it. Yes it was in a film once, but it might as well have been a medal around Gateshead's neck, weighing it down from ever moving into the age of multiplex cinemas and affordable Italian American food.
