Why Get Excited? Along with a raft of now iconic scenes and eye-popping performances that have since entered cinematic lore, Christopher Nolans Dark Knight Trilogy also unmasked Gotham City to show us what it really is: a concrete jungle that has sprung from the seeds of corruption. Brit creator Bruno Heller of Rome and The Mentalist fame - has taken this concept, ran through some dark alleyways with it, and come out the other side with this sublimely pitched comic book detective series. The show follows a rookie Jim Gordan (yes, he is played by Ben McKenzie aka Ryan from the OC) as he works to solve the murder of a certain Martha and Thomas Wayne. Along the way, expect to see him form a bond with a young Bruce Wayne and tangle with DC baddies still in their infancy, such as Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Harvey Dent and Oswald Cobblepot. Whens It Out?
