5 Ways To Live Forever (And 7 Reasons It Would Suck)

1. The End Of The Universe

By now, you will have become accustomed to endlessly floating through space, taking it all in and essentially becoming a great cosmic being (but without any of the power). It's probably a good time to learn how to meditate or something.

We have two options now, either the universe is going to end, or it isn't. Neither of those outcomes are great news for you I'm afraid. We still don't know what the ultimate fate of the universe will be, but there are plenty of theories floating around.

It could be that the expansion of the universe continues to accelerate, making the vast distances between stars and galaxies ever more vast. Eventually, matter begins to break down as spacetime is stretched further and further. The stars go out, but that doesn't matter anyway, as the wavelengths of the light coming from them will have stretched to a point that you can't see them anyway. Eventually you will also break down into your constituent atoms which will in turn break down into pure energy.

What happens to your consciousness then is anyone's guess. You would barely even exist as a spooky smear of quantum particles. 80 years on our humble little planet doesn't seem so bad now does it?
