4. Jupiter And Venus
These 2 planets arent the only ones visible to the naked eye but theyre by far the easiest to find. The reason Jupiter and Venus are so easy to find is that they shine with an immense brightness. In fact, Jupiter is the 3rd brightest object in the night sky and Venus is the 2nd outshone by the moon. Not much detail can be seen when observing these planets with the naked eye, but this doesnt mean that theyre not worth looking at. A particularly impressive sight to look out for is a conjunction between these 2 dazzling planets. The word planet means wandering star, and if you manage to observe the planets on a regular basis for long enough it should be apparent that they do indeed wander across the night sky (relative to the constellations). As the planets wander they will occasionally reverse their direction. This phenomena is known as retrograde motion and is proof that the geocentric model is incorrect. So, if you manage to observe retrograde motion you'll be observing a phenomena that changed how we viewed our place within the Universe forever!
