7 Medical Conditions That Seem Supernatural

2. Morgellons

Morgellons is a little understood and albeit, controversial, condition in which sufferers believe that they are infested with bugs, experiencing biting and stinging sensations. It is often accompanied by the presence of unusual fibres that seem to appear under the skin. Additional complications include fatigue, hair loss, tooth loss, red sores, and joint and muscle pain. According to the Centre for Disease Control in Atlanta, most of the reports come from California, Texas and Florida and over 14,000 people seem to suffer from it. Nonetheless, the Centre for Disease Control states that the disease does not exist and that the fibres are common household fibres from clothing, blankets and various other textiles and the patients are suffering from delusions. Others believe that patients are truly suffering from some affliction. There are other doctors and scientists who claim that they cannot identify the components of the fibres and therefore, believe their patients. In supernatural circles, it has been suggested that the fibres are alien nanotechnology or the result of an off planet plague. Additionally, some sufferers have connected €œchemtrails€ (the trails of condensation emitted by airplanes) to their illness, claiming that their symptoms are worse when chemtrails are visible. Other suggested explanations include fungal infections, Lyme disease and plant genetics. In reality, the cause of Morgellons is completely unknown. At this time, there is no agreed upon treatment for Morgellons. There are some medical practitioners who have stated that they have had success treating patients with high dose antibiotics. Commonly, however, individuals are left to suffer through this mysterious illness, while being labelled mentally deficient by many in the medical field. More research should be done to focus on providing respite for these patients and finding answers in the name of science and humanity.
