8 Eerie Works Of Architecture
1. Milan Cathedral. Milan - Italy
Well, someone's going to lose an eye. Did you ever see The Omen when that church spire falls on that guy's head? Or Hot Fuzz when that spire falls on that guy's head? Or the remake of The Omen when that spire falls on that guy's head? Milan Cathedral has a spire for every head.
Work on the cathedral began in 1386 and took nearly 600 years to complete. This timeframe goes to explain the cathedral's indecisive nature, with work passing from lead architect to lead architect, from style to style – the only consistent thing the church can really decide on is that it wants to be very pointy.
Milan Cathedral has the added creep factor of having the most statues for any building on Earth. If we assume that the 3,400 statues and 700 figures each have two eyes that's 8,200 eyes, all watching you, wherever you go.
