Tig acts as the unassuming, every-person comedian in an age where the every-person performer has almost been forgotten. She considers her shtick personal humor as opposed to the old Seinfeldian model of observational humor. Her jokes shy away from surface-level annoyances in lieu of a deeper journey into her personal life which even bounces around her inner psyche from time to time.
In 2012 Tig was diagnosed with breast cancer and later got a double mastectomy while opting out of reconstructive surgery. Then in 2014, as part of her road to recovery, she performed a New York show topless revealing her scars and the vulnerability that goes along with that, for all to see.
Tig has done quite well the past few years. She continues to perform stand-up regularly and has appeared in various movies and TV shows, including her own Amazon Prime series entitled One Mississippi.
