9 Outstanding Female Comedians Funnier Than Amy Schumer

4. Pamela Adlon

Better Things
FX

Unlike most women on this list, Pamela got her start as a child star as opposed to stand-up comedy. Her first major movie role was the young girl from the forgettable Grease 2. In fact, despite her longstanding work relationship with Louie CK, she never did much stand-up comedy at all.

Before finding success on live-action TV in her semi-autobiographical show, Better Things, she made her bones in animation. She provided voice over work for popular programs such as Rugrats, Bobby’s World, Pepper Ann and Recess. However, her most iconic roll was as the voice of delightful oddball Bobby Hill on the long-running animated series King of the Hill.

She continues to bring the funny on both the live action and animated front. Her style of humor portrays a down-to-earth authentic feel that is unmistakably human and deliciously flawed. She also has the ability to balance highly commercial projects alongside smaller, more meaningful endeavors.
