1. Only 18 Pieces Out Of A Million Are Wasted During Production

The secret to Lego's success is efficiency. Case in point, for every one million pieces the firm's factories create, only 18 are wasted.

This is due to the quality of the moulds the company uses - they are accurate to within two-thousands of a millimetre, so very few parts end up being defective.

With that level of efficiency and annual production of LEGO bricks averaging at 36 billion, it's easy to see how the Lego Group came to be one of the most lucrative businesses on the planet.
