28. End Of Watch

Stephen King in It: Chapter Two
Hodder Paperbacks

The final novel in the Bill Hodges Trilogy, End of Watch keeps the procedural drama of the previous two installments whilst mixing things up and throwing in some King-esque supernatural themes. Murderer Mr Mercedes has now gained psychic abilities which allow him to control people from his coma, making stopping him a double-headache for Bill Hodges and partner Holly Gibney.

It might not have needed the supernatural elements, but End of Watch remains a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to a surprising and compelling series.
