Harry Potter And The Cursed Child: 7 Most Compelling Theories

2. Teddy Lupin Is The Cursed Child

When you consider the title of the play, it should inspire thoughts of one surviving wizarding world character more than any other: the child of tragic lovers Tonks and Lupin. Their deaths were the hardest part of the books to take, and it's not hard to consider their surviving son as being Cursed in that context. After all, he was marked by death and his origin is similar to Harry's. And while Rowling was keen to push the idea of difference - in that he grows up in a safe world - it would be intriguing to see him wrestling with the ghosts of his past in an intimate stage environment. Theory Rating: 3/10 While there is an established fandom for Teddy, it would probably be too much for even Rowling to add to the misery of his first year by making him cursed. It would also be a betrayal of the expanded lore of the books to explore the effect his father's blood might have on him, since it's established he isn't a werewolf, but there could be room to explore that impact without making him fully infected. The Curse could merely be the hangover from his father's condition.
