Joe Rogan Experience: 10 Early Gem Podcasts You Might Have Missed
1. Brian Redban #1
In order to really appreciate the scope of what the JRE has become in recent years, you have to go all the way back to the beginning. Watching this episode is illuminating because it's hard to imagine even Joe knew that this stream would eventually evolve into one of the world's most popular podcasts.
Redban had initially been hired by Joe years earlier to join him on his stand up comedy tours and record videos for his website. Redban was famously responsible for recording and uploading the hilarious clips of Joe confronting Carlos Mencia at The Comedy Store that led to Rogan's lengthy hiatus from the famous venue.
Clocking in at just over two hours, Joe and Redban talk to a webcam as the now-iconic snowflake effect appears on screen for the first thirty minutes. Hilariously, some topics that would become staples of the show make their debut here, including Rogan telling the story about how he got a T-1 line so he could play Quake in the 90s.
