Joe Rogan Experience: 10 Early Gem Podcasts You Might Have Missed

7. Chael Sonnen #216

Truly one of the greatest trash talkers in sporting history, Chael Sonnen's first appearance on the JRE came at the height of his in-ring career as he prepared for his rematch with long-reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

Those who aren't fans of combat sports and usually do not tune in when Joe brings on guests from the world of MMA, should still consider giving the episode with the silver-tongued American Gangster a try. Chael is the perfect JRE guest, intelligent and entertaining in equal measure and adept at seamlessly bouncing around a variety of subjects while providing interesting insights aplenty.

One of the most fascinating discussions of the episode comes when the former UFC title challenger claims to know the identity of the famous fugitive D.B. Cooper. Sonnen states that the man of mystery famous for escaping into obscurity after collecting a sizeable ransom is actually a family friend.

Whether or not Chael is telling the truth is up for debate, but the episode is still essential viewing for anyone looking for evidence to dispel many of the myths about the eloquence of professional fighters.
