Star Wars: 20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Mandalorian
11. Many Glorious Rebels Nods
For those who had fully immersed themselves in the wonderful animated adventure that was Star Wars Rebels in the lead-up to taking in all things Mandalorian, did Jon Favreau have a few treats for you throughout Season 3 in particular.
In that aforementioned bar on Adelphi, none other than one-time Ghost crew member Garazeb Orrelios eventually joins Captain Teva for a quick chat in Chapter 21: The Pirate, blowing the minds of folks who had long been wondering what a live-action Zeb would actually look like.
And on top of that Rebels nod heading into the upcoming Ahsoka series, one which is set to star fellow Spectres Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger and Hera Syndulla, another salute to the much-loved animated show could be seen during a blast through hyperspace in Chapter 17: The Apostate.
As Din Grogu enjoys a hyperspace jump in the N-1 starfighter with his eventual adoptive father, the Force-sensitive sprog spots the shadows of a pod of purrgil soaring alongside them. Purrgil were rather significant players during the Rebels series, with this large alien species being able to fly through hyperspace and ultimately helping Bridger see off the threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn on Lothal.
And this brief Mando cameo acts as their first-ever live-action appearance... and perhaps the first of many.
