Pyrythian Swamp Gobblers might just gobble you but the Moopsie is another level of deadly.

Introduced in the second episode of Lower Decks season four, I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee, the show continues its march of creating extremely memorable one-off characters and annoyingly catchy catchphrases that fans are muttering in the office weeks later.

Proving that cute is not necessarily cuddly, the Moopsy terrorises Mariner and Ransom during their mission to Narj's Miraculous Menagerarium. Walking with a smile on it's adorable face, it's the stroll of an absolute relentless killing machine that literally drinks the bones of its victims.

Odd to think that another one off moment was probably eclipsed by this brilliant creation in the animated show. That would be the vocal talents of Walter Koenig playing Pavel Chekov's grandson in the opening narration of the Picard finale The Last Generation. This would mark the first and only live action return of a TOS actor to date although in a different role as Federation President Anton Chekov.

Of the remaining TOS actors this means that only William Shatner has not spoken a line in any of the Kurtzman produced series. George Takei as fans will remember voiced Sulu in the holodeck recreation Boimler experienced during Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus!

Horsey's gonna bite you now...

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
