Beloved Patton Oswalt was one of the many actors who Rainn Wilson had to compete against for the part of Dwight Schrute. In the end though, there was only one man who could take on that role and it wasn't the voice of Remy from Ratatouille.

It's hard to think of him playing the nastier side of Dwight's character, given his other roles, so it's probably fair that he didn't get it.
