10 Amazing Horror TV Shows You Probably Missed
9. Slasher
The slasher has been one of the most beloved and enduring horror sub-genres since its boom in the seventies. So, it's only fair that it gets a show all to itself.
Slasher is a seasonal anthology series that follows different slashings with a new set of characters and a different whodunit style mystery.
The thing about Slasher is that it's perfect junk food TV. To call the series as a whole good would be a stretch, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth watching. Despite the writing being cringe-worthy at its best and problematic at its worst, the kills salvage the show.
When characters die, it is violent with a capital V. Chainsaws, snowmobiles, machetes, decapitations, drills, saws, and a whole mess of methods of murder are showcased creating a bloody buffer that holds back the writing from being overwhelmingly off-putting. Seriously, you're never sure if the writing is self-aware or genuine, making for a more confusing watching experience than needed.
There is a bit of caution though as some of the content deals with serious issues and it drops the ball on most of them. However, if that doesn't deter you then by all means check it out as Slasher is a solid way to waste an empty afternoon.
