The Rebels animated series boasted a ton of brilliant twists and turns throughout its four-season run. But when it comes to awesome moments and sequences that came completely out of left field, you'd struggle to find a more impactful one than the staggering discovery of the World Between Worlds during the episode of the same name in Season Four.

After using the painting of the Mortis gods to uncover a portal of sorts, Ezra Bridger dives into it and soon finds himself in a strange ol' place. Here, the Jedi padawan hears rumbles of the past and future, and can also seen pivotal moments from his own history, such as the death of his own master and Ahsoka Tano battling with Darth Vader on Malachor.

Things take an even more surreal turn in the wake of Bridger actually managing to save Tano's life by dragging her into the World Between Worlds and being talked out of attempting to do the same for his fallen master, with Darth Sidious soon stopping by via some Sith sorcery.

From seeing the two Force-sensitive heroes just about evade the Dark Lord of the Sith within the beautifully bizarre plane, to the many subtle ways the World Between Worlds connects the entire Star Wars universe, Dave Filoni and the gang took a bold swing with this ambitious sequence and knocked it out of the park.
