10 Amazing TV Shows That Became Unwatchable
9. How I Met Your Mother
When Friends ended in 2004, it left a void in the American sitcom world that certainly wasn't about to be filled by Joey. Enter the likes of The Office, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and The Big Bang Theory. One of these was good from start to finish (even after Steve Carell left), one is incredibly still going, and the other was never good in the first place.
Then there is How I Met Your Mother. When the show first aired in 2005, it felt like a good replacement for Friends. The characters were likeable, the story was unique, and it was utterly charming.
Fast forward toward the end of its run, however, and none of those things were true anymore. Ted (Josh Radnor) was as unlikeable as ever, but the rest of the core five characters had joined him in being tough to watch, that he was still telling his kids this story was ridiculous, and it had more than outstayed its welcome.
Cristin Milioti was ultimately brought in to portray the mother of Ted's kids for the final season, but honestly at this point, did anyone even care anymore?
