10 Amazing TV Shows That Became Unwatchable

8. The Witcher

How I Met Your Mother
Netflix

When it first released back in 2019, it seemed that The Witcher had so much going for it. There was a huge lore of source material to pull from in the form of Andrzej Sapkowski's series of novels and the video game adaptations, fantasy TV was still hot, and the casting of Henry Cavill was utterly inspired.

Not only did the former Superman look and act the part as Geralt of Rivia, but the man himself was a huge fan of the property in general and poured so much passion into his performance. So much so, he was willing to walk away from the production as things strayed further and further from a faithful adaptation of the source material.

In fairness, the show had certainly already lost a lot of the shine that made it stand out so much in its first season, but the firing of Cavill was the final nail in the coffin for many fans.

It may be unfair on Liam Hemsworth to judge him against Cavill in the role before season four has even released, but the fact that it has already been confirmed that season five will be the show's last is rather telling. Apparently even Netflix doesn't have faith in the thing anymore.
