6. Avatar: The Last Airbender/ The Legend of Korra
It didn't matter how hard M. Night Shyamalan tried with his 2010 adaptation, not even the most uneven director of our time could tarnish the legacy of one of, if not thee, greatest animated series of the last decade. Avatar the Last Airbender introduces us to a fantasy world where people have the ability to bend the elements to their will. The events 100 years before the start of the show are exposed gradually and out of order throughout the series. The series follows the adventures of protagonist twelve-year-old Aang and his friends, who must bring peace and unity to the world they inhabit. Praises should be given to the humor, art direction, cultural references, themes and of course the characters. The animation is magnificent and the characters are engaging and well devolved. The martial arts are fantastic to watch and most of all, the story-line will be etched in your mind forever.
