7. Talking Down The Twins' Sentence With Tuco
Another great surprise for fans of Breaking Bad came at the end of the first episode with the appearance of Tuco Salamanca, the vicious Mexican drug dealer who kidnapped Walter White and Jesse Pinkman early on in the original show. Having already kidnapped skater twins Lars and Cal after a road accident scam goes horribly wrong, Jimmy too becomes caught up with the gangster and ends up tied up in the desert awaiting his death. After having talked them out of killing him, Jimmy finds himself negotiating with Tuco to talk down the "sentence" of the twins who, rather than being tortured and killed as originally planned, end up having a leg each broken. If there's any scene in the Better Call Saul series which encapsulates Jimmy's smooth-talking nature then this is the one - no doubt as he moves further towards the wrong side of the tracks we'll be seeing more fast talk as he deals with even more criminals.
