Alpha Centauri isnt a creature, per se; its a hermaphroditic hexapod, thank you very much. With a squeaky voice perpetually on the verge of hysterics, Alpha Centauri is the esteemed ambassador to Peladon. That looks like a large, green part of the male anatomy. Someone in the design room must have been having a laugh, and when Alpha struts onto the screen its impossible to take the alien seriously. The best part about Alpha Centauri, though, is that it doesnt expect anyone to. It is what it is, and its proud.
