10 Awful Films The Walking Dead Actors Want Us To Forget
8. Lennie James - Sahara
Lennie James was already a semi-familiar actor when he appeared on The Walking Dead. Having appeared in hits like Snatch and Jericho, (another great apocalypse series) The Walking Dead elevated Lennie James to new levels of recognition.
But that doesn't mean we're going to forget that he played 'General Zateb Kazim' in Sahara.
Based on Clive Cussler's Sahara (one of many in the Dirk Pitt series), the film was about an explorer who travels to West Africa in search of the "Ship of Death" while being pursued by a ruthless dictator. It was supposed kickstart a fun action series based on Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels.
Instead, Sahara is now known as one of the most expensive flops of all time, effectively cancelling any plans for a series.
Sahara was a huge misstep for many careers but Lennie James managed to bounce back, landing the role of Morgan Jones from The Walking Dead. Lennie's one-off appearance as Morgan in the pilot episode was praised so highly by fans, he was brought back to the show as a series regular and eventually given the starring role of the AMC sister series 'Fear The Walking Dead.'
