10 Awful Films The Walking Dead Actors Want Us To Forget

7. Danai Gurira - My Soul To Take

My Soul To Take
Rogue Pictures

On paper, My Soul To Take seemed like it should have been good. The film follows a group of teenagers who attempt to trace a series of mysterious disappearances to a serial killer who died exactly sixteen years prior and made an oath to come back and kill the seven children that were born on the night he supposedly died.

The film sounds like a darker spinoff of the Nightmare on Elm Street series, also directed by the king of nightmares, Wes Craven. My Soul To Take was Craven's second last film before he passed away in 2015.

Unfortunately, the film was pretty bad, sitting at a 10% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The biggest mistake, however, was underusing The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira as a bland, expository character with nothing much to do.

Danai Gurira is now known for playing fan favorite 'Michonne' in The Walking Dead and Okoye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Danai has clearly moved on to bigger and better things including playwriting and even writing and producing her own HBO Max series 'Americanah.'
