After the initial evilness of the Green Ranger's Tommy Oliver and his return as the more heroic White Ranger, the Gold Ranger from Mighty Morphin's sequel series can arguably be considered the first proper sixth Ranger, as the various Trey's who form the Gold Ranger's identity didn't start off as evil and didn't take over the team as a new leader. Far bulkier and more practical looking than either Green or White Rangers, the Gold Ranger was a force to be reckoned with, his metallic-esque powers making him a step above any Ranger that came before him up to that point. Although given that Zeo was only the second Power Rangers series (out of 20 plus and counting) that level of power would soon be toppled, hence his position at a lowly number ten. The Gold Ranger also gained a new level of awesomeness when the original Red Ranger, Jason, returned to take over the Gold Ranger's powers after Trey departed.
