Specialist Anastasia 'Dee' Dualla had been with us since the beginning of the show. She was one of Adama's loyal crew on Galactica when it was due to be decommissioned, she was by the Commander's side when the call to action began, she was later commissioned and promoted to Pegasus, under the command of her husband, Lee Adama.
Then just a few episodes from the end of the show's fourth and final season, Dee takes a pistol to her head and kills herself in front of a mirror. It's one of the most shocking and yet understandable moments in the entire series. The wish to escape the relentless misery that the fleet has found itself in. The moment of release in the squeeze of a trigger.
Dee's relationships over the course of the show didn't demonstrate any suicidal tendencies or hint at a deeper depression. She just decided one day that there was nothing else worth living for. She had one last nice night, then she went.
