10 Best American Horror Story Characters

Lily Rabe was perfectly cast here. It’s perhaps unsurprising that three seasons in, they were able to wring some of the best performances out of the returning cast members. Rabe’s ethereal look and fine blonde hair was perfect for Misty’s au natural, flower power personality.

Though she is forced by circumstance to live as a loner, she’s actually one of the most loving and friendly characters in American Horror Story, connecting deeply to her sisters in the coven. If ever there was a reminder that flowers have thorns, Misty Day is it. She has respect for all living things, but respect must be earned. When she sees poachers killing an alligator near her swampland home, she resurrects the creative and unleashes it on them.

It’s this core of goodness that makes her story so tragic. Had she been born without magic, she might have had an easy life. Even her own version of Hell is not any form of torture or suffering for her. Instead, she’s back in science class having to dissect a frog. Her worst nightmare is causing harm to an innocent creature.
