10 Best Animated Shows Of The Last 10 Years
3. F is for Family
The 1970s were a weird time (at least from what I heard). Nuclear families were the norm, and gender roles were rigid and almost unbreakable. On top of all of that, kids were not nearly as well supervised as they probably should have been.
All of this ties into the setting of F is for Family, a series premiering in 2015 and following the dysfunctional Murphy family. Based off of Bill Burr's childhood, he leads a cast of family members that are all trying to live with each other as they deal with the problems of suburbia. Stressful jobs, trying to grow up, and marriage issues are just some of the conflicts shown in the series.
Equal parts hilarious and hard to watch, the show was critically acclaimed despite arguably being the least popular of Netflix's original animated lineup. It has ended after 5 seasons and multiple awards, but the show's wild, foul-mouthed humour and dark moments will leave a lasting impression on viewers.
