10 Best Battles In Buffy The Vampire Slayer History
8. The Battle In Hell
After being forced to kill Angel at the climax of season two, Buffy runs away from Sunnydale and takes a job as a waitress in LA. While she's there she notices something strange is happening to the homeless community.
Buffy learns that something is rapidly ageing the young homeless people by draining their life. She uncovers that Ken, who runs a local teen shelter, has been capturing people and taking them into a hell dimension.
In this dimension a century passes in one of our days. The old homeless people have only been taken the day before and forced into a life of slavery before being discarded back on the streets. Ken insists that nobody will miss these people and that's why they take them.
Buffy refuses to accept that and fights Ken and his demons. It's such a memorable battle because of its rusted industrial setting, with sparks flying and the demons that keep coming and coming. It also gave us that iconic pose with Buffy holding the sickle.
Buffy ends the monsters' reign and saves the people who had been enslaved. By rescuing these people, who "nobody cared for", Buffy comes to accept that she is cared for, and how she must be missed at home and returns to Sunnydale.
