5. Dorothea Ames – Class
The second headteacher of Coal Hill seen in Class. Ames was introduced as a mysterious, all knowing authority figure offering Miss Quill her freedom in return for forcing Charlie to use the Cabinet of Souls to wipe out an invading army of petals.
Ames would be a frequent presence during the second half of the series. Acting as a link between The Coal Hill Defenders and the sinister Governors, a sinister order in charge of The Academy with access to alien technology and prisoners.
She was essentially the secondary villain of the series being manipulative and cunning whilst always trying to hide her real agenda. With each episode revelling that she wasn’t as in control as we initially thought. Gradually hinting that she was just another cog in the Governors’ engine. Meeting her end in the finale, we see her demise at the hands of the Weeping Angels. The Governors true “benefactors”.
