10 Best Female Antiheroes On TV

4. Ozark - Wendy Byrde

Westworld Dolores
Netflix

Being the wife of a money launderer for a Mexican drug cartel can come with its problems. Having to uproot her family from Chicago and move to the Ozarks where her husband Marty must work to pay off his debt to the cartel, Wendy immerses herself in Marty's business until she is equally responsible in his schemes.

Wendy is determined and headstrong and not easily manipulated by those around her. She loves her family and justifies everything she does by saying it is in service of protecting them. Incredibly intelligent, Wendy knows how to read people and, in turn, control them if she so chooses. She can be cold and cruel when she needs to be and is unafraid of doing terrible deeds in order to get what she wants.

Becoming the clear standout of the show, Laura Linney improves upon an already complex character as she adds a contemplative hesitation to every big choice Wendy makes. She will sacrifice her own loved ones if it ensures the safety of her own children and would probably go even further than that.
