5. And Now His Watch Is Ended (Season 3, Episode 4)
Speaking of awesome Dany-centric endings, here is an episode that concludes more like a season finale than the actual third season finale. Danys babies dont get a whole lot to do in the show because theyre so young (and expensive to render). But when theyre finally unleashed, there are no words in the common tongue or High Valyrian to adequately describe the spectacle. Of course the episode is great even before the jaw-dropping finale. Its deeply satisfying to see Joffrey be manipulated by someone smarter than he is. And the Nights Watch rebellion and Lord Commander Mormonts death would be the standout scene in most episodes. But were not dealing with most episodes. During the final scene, Dany actually appears to trade Drogon, her favorite dragon, for an army of dehumanized castrati. But the Mother of Dragons proves that you can have your cake, eat it too, and then burn the baker to death. After the dust and ashes settle, the slavers are all dead, Dany keeps all her dragons, and she even gets to keep all those Unsullied. Next stop: Westeros in like four years. Maybe.
