10 Best Horror TV Shows Of 2020
3. Bloodride
Aptly released back on Friday 13th March, Bloodride is an anthology horror series originating from Norway. The show was created by Kjetil Indregard and Atle Knudsen, and stars Stig R. Amdam, Ellen Bendu and Anna Bache-Wiig, who is perhaps best known for her film Utøya: July 22 based around the Utøya summer camp massacre.
Each episode of Bloodride is set on board a bus being driven by its driver in the middle of the night with the rain lashing down around it. Each episode follows one of the bus' passengers getting off the bus and having the horrors unfold around them, and the show's format of having each story separated into half-hour chunks makes it a fun series to dip in and digest.
The show is in Norweigian, so might be best enjoyed with the subtitles on, but the foreign language doesn't take away from what remains one of the most memorable and genuinely clever releases Netflix has produced for its horror genre over the course of the year.
There are six episodes in the first season, all of which contain their own unique themes and tones, though the show's use of dark humour remains one of its most consistent features to enjoy.
