4. Bumi Talks To Aang's Statue - Civil War

Legend of Korra
Nickelodeon Animation Studio

One can only imagine what it must have been like to be Bumi before Tenzin was born. The first born son of the last airbender, and he couldn't bend at all.

Season 2 of Korra, due primarily - one might even say EXCLUSIVELY - to Nickelodeon constantly messing with Korra, was a lot more rocky than other seasons.

But there are multiple scenes that make it completely worth it. One of these scenes is Bumi coming to talk to the statue of his long dead father.

The talk he has with Aang's statue is short, but peels back a lot of the upper layers of what seemed at first glance to just be a goofy old man. He asks Aang if he ever made him proud, if he had done a good job living up to his legacy. You get the sense that he knows the answer to that, but that he always needed Aang to actually, you know, say it.

The scene may be short, but what happened in it has stuck in the minds of avatar fans ever since.
