6. The Da Vinci Code

South Park Da Vinci Code Ian McKellan

Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code was always ripe for spoofing; the whole premise is so fantastically goofy with a ridiculously twisty conspiratorial plot. Not to mention, it takes itself far too seriously.

So, as expected, it finds itself the butt of the joke in Fantastic Easter Special. Stan begins questioning the Easter holiday traditions: what do rabbits hiding and dying eggs have to do with Jesus's resurrection? Everything, apparently. Jesus proclaimed Saint Peter as the first Pope, but little did anyone know that Peter was actually a rabbit. The Church has been covering this fact up, killing anyone who might reveal the truth.

Stan joins the secret order of "The Hare Club for Men", the guardians who protect the descendant of the first rabbit Pope. The Church unleashes its ninja forces in an attempt to kill the club and the rabbit.

However, it's the scene imitating Ian McKellen as the Da Vinci expert that stands out the most. They go to extraordinary lengths and leaps in logic to explain away the absurdity of what's going on. Almost exactly as it happens in the film.

Alex Harvey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
